This small round fruit with a hard pinkish to dark red skin has a juicy flesh which is sweet with a touch of tartness. Originally imported from China , a number of varieties are now grown in Northern Thailand. When the fruit is not available fresh , it is always possible to buy the fruit already canned. Hohng-hooway is oval in shape with a pinkish/red skin and a sweet and slightly sour taste. Gim-jeng is globular, with a small seed, bright red and with a sweet taste. Oh-hia is almost heart-shaped, with a thick flesh .The skin is dark red in colour and it is also sweet tasting.,
