Buying a condo in Pattaya is the most popular option among foreigners, as they are allowed to own a condominium provided the total number of units in the building owned by foreigners does not exceed 49 per cent. For those who have no legal avenue to own land, this is the best option. Sales of condos in Pattaya are equally supported by Thai buyers, due to the convenience and close proximity to Bangkok, providing a weekend holiday home. Most of the Pattaya condo projects are on or near the beach as it’s essential to have sea views from the prime units.

The condo market in Pattaya has outperformed the more upmarket resort destinations of Phuket and Samui in recent years, as new project launches have achieved excellent sales results.

The critical consideration before purchasing a condo is who owns the building and how it will be maintained.
