Building a house in Phuket is a popular choice, and can be quite rewarding within lawful structures. In Thailand building is a national obsession, so the industry is supported by a good supply of building contractors, materials choices, decorating options. In Phuket many do this as a development investment, since materials and labor are cheap, and the choice of styles excellent. If all works out to plan, the end product should have cost about 30 per cent cheaper than a pre-developed alternative, leading to great long-term returns and profit.
